Pavement Technology
The Southwest Pavement Technology Consortium draws on years of expertise and qualified teachers for its courses and training materials. We are dedicated to educating individuals on the best practices for testing, producing, and using asphalt in the paving. The training classes started in January 2022. More than 60 trainees from various agencies, businesses, and government groups & organizations are present in the training sessions that began in January 2023.
1-Day Asphalt Construction Workmanship Workshop

This session focuses on the construction process and balancing paving operations, including asphalt mixture production and haulage, preparing underlying layers, placement/laydown best practices, and compaction process, emphasizing longitudinal joint. The importance of quality assurance will be highlighted during critical construction phases to ensure value is achieved.
3-Day Asphalt Pavement Maintenance, Production, and Construction Quality Training Class

09:00 A.M. to 04:00 P.M. MST
This 3-day course focuses on:
- The specifications, design, QC and process control of asphalt Mix.
- Asphalt Mix production facilities and QC
- Commonly used treatments and scheduling
