Moderator

Tim Murphy is President and Owner of Murphy Pavement Technology. Prior to that, he was the President of Chicago Testing Laboratory, District Engineer at Asphalt Institute (AI) Chicago Office, and at Illinois Department of Transportation. He has been providing teaching, training, troubleshooting, and testifying on asphalt-related projects around the nation.  Currently providing certification training from HMA mix design to process control through construction and maintenance practices around the nation.  Developing new HMA specifications and supplying Independent Assurance for Agencies and working with many Facility Owners and Contractors to improve production and quality efforts on roadways, airfields, and private work around the country. He got his MS degree from Mississippi State University (May 2023). He received his Civil Engineering degree from Illinois Institute of Technology in December 1984.


Outline

In this forum, we will bring Arizona’s asphalt paving industry experts together. The goal is to discuss the main challenges in asphalt mixture design, production and construction affecting the quality and longevity of asphalt pavements. The meeting offers a unique opportunity for the entire industry to spend a day discussing how to improve the quality of asphalt construction in the state. The meeting will be facilitated by Tim Murphy, President of Murphy Pavement Technology. Murphy will lead a large group discussion and facilitate breakout sessions for owners, managers, engineers and technicians.
